James’s story
I travelled the world, then chose the Philippines as my base
I’m an Australian digital nomad, a frequent traveller and the person on this team who is actually navigating the dating scene now.
I spent years travelling through Southeast Asia and further around the world before basing myself in the Philippines. That gives me a useful comparison: I know the difference between holiday chemistry, the fast attention a foreign man can receive, and a connection that still feels good after the novelty wears off.
I have had exciting dates, embarrassing misreads and experiences that cost me more trust than they should have. I have also met warm, funny and ambitious Filipinas who made the Philippines feel like more than a stop on an itinerary. I’m currently dating Angela, a Filipina who keeps my sweeping theories honest.
My writing is for younger foreign men, especially travellers and remote workers. I will talk plainly about casual dating, attraction, money, jealousy, exclusivity and the mistakes men make when attention goes to their head. Being positive about dating Filipinas does not require pretending every experience ends well.

Joy’s story
I want international couples to see the person before the stereotype
I’m a Filipino woman married to an American man, and I believe a relationship with a foreigner can be loving, equal and genuinely life-expanding.
I also recognise the awkward conversations that sit behind a happy photograph. Two people may both speak English and still hear a promise differently. One may see family support as ordinary responsibility while the other sees an open-ended financial risk. A woman can be proud to introduce her family and still want independence from them.
I joined this site because too much advice speaks about Filipino women without speaking with one. My role is not to certify every match or make every difference sound charming. It is to explain the Filipino context, challenge lazy assumptions and show couples how to ask each other better questions.
My perspective is hopeful because my marriage gives me reason to be. The strongest international couples do not erase their differences; they make them safe to discuss.

Dave’s story
After divorce, I returned to a country I already knew
I’m an American in my fifties. My military career first took me to the Philippines; after my divorce, I went back with very different questions.
I was not looking for a television fantasy. I wanted companionship and a serious future, but I found the practical path harder to navigate than the advertising suggested. There were dating sites to compare, profiles to assess, money boundaries to set, trips to organise and eventually a cross-border life to plan.
I’m now in a long-term relationship with Lucy and in the process of bringing her to the United States. That experience is why I wanted this site to exist. A man can be sincere and still make expensive mistakes because he confuses urgency with commitment or assumes the immigration process will solve questions the couple has not answered.
I write for the man beginning again after divorce or a long relationship. My safety advice is cautious without treating every Filipina as a suspect, and my relationship advice is practical because I have had to make the same decisions myself.
